Have you heard of "Soap2Day" but are unsure if it's safe or even what it is? You're not alone. Soap2Day was a popular free streaming site that closed down in 2023. Some copycat sites have popped up in Soap2Day's absence, and you might be wondering which ones are safe to use. In this article, we'll go over how you can tell if a Soap2Day site is safe and some alternative streaming sites you can use instead.
What Is Soap2Day & Is It Safe
Soap2Day was a free streaming site for movies and TV, but was shut down in June 2023. Some copycat sites have cropped up that also call themselves "Soap2Day," but use caution before clicking. These sites are usually safe in and of themselves, but may have malicious ads that can give you a virus if you click them.

If you see a website called "Soap2Day," be careful before clicking. Soap2Day was a free movie and TV streaming site. On June 13, 2023, Soap2Day officially closed down.[1] You can no longer access the original Soap2Day website, but many other websites have cropped up with the name "Soap2Day."
- This is one Soap2Day copycat site that is safe to use, as of the writing of this article. However, always be cautious before clicking on links.
2
Avoid clicking ads on any Soap2Day copycat sites. Most of these websites aren't inherently dangerous, but contain many ads (both pop-ups and banner ads) that may install viruses on your computer. These ads can be difficult to close out of, and you may accidentally click on them, thus infecting your computer.
- While uncommon, getting a virus or malware by simply visiting a website is possible. If you don't trust a website, it's safest not to click it.[2]
- If you want to tell if a URL is safe to click, there are a few URL checkers online you can use (such as this one by VirusTotal or this one from Google). However, hackers know how to get around these types of URL checkers, so they may not accurately catch every malicious URL. The safest way to check a URL is to use a virtual machine, but setting one up takes time, money, and a little know-how and may be excessive for only checking if a Soap2Day copycat site is safe.

Use free streaming sites at your own risk. In the United States, watching pirated content via a stream isn't illegal as long as you don't download it, but this may not be the case in all parts of the world.[3]
